 Aiken man dies in violent single car crash, second death in Aiken County in 2008 web posted January 28, 2008 AIKEN – An Aiken County man became the second fatality in Aiken County for 2008 Sunday after a violent single car crash on Roslyn Circle. According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, 57-year-old Larry Bruce Bowman of Aiken was pronounced dead on arrival at the Aiken Regional Medical Center at approximately 3:14 pm Sunday. The crash occurred just after 2:10 pm when Mr. Bowman, the restrained driver and lone occupant of a 1995 Chevrolet Caprice, was traveling east on Roslyn Circle in Aiken when his vehicle left the roadway near #10 Roslyn Circle, struck a fence, and then collided with a tree. Mr. Bowman was transported from the scene of the crash by Aiken County EMS after being extricated from the car nearly an hour after the crash. Speed appears to be a factor, Coroner Carlton said. Toxicology results are pending. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and the Aiken County Coroner's office is investigating the death. ©
