 Aiken Police seek armed robber web posted January 30, 2008  AIKEN – The Aiken
Department of Public
Safety is looking to identify a man they believe is responsible for an
armed robbery of an Aiken woman in front of her home in the Gatewood
neighborhood last Thursday. The suspect followed the woman home from
her job on Laurens Street before forcing her to the ground at gunpoint
and stealing her money.The man reportedly told the woman not to call police because he knew where she lived and would return to kill her. The woman ignored the man’s threat and called 911 once inside her home. The Aiken Department of Public Safety was busy Tuesday passing out flyers to businesses in the area in an effort to prevent a repeat crime and to gather information about the suspect, who was said to be driving a two-door white car. Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the Gatewood neighborhood or the vehicle in downtown Aiken to contact Aiken Public Safety's Detective David Savage at 803-642-7687 or CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at (888) 559-TIPS (8477).
