  Weekend death of 25-year-old Aiken woman still under investigation web posted April 14, 2008 AIKEN – The Aiken County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Office are still investigating the drowning death of 25-year-old Victoria Rose Mendez who was discovered unresponsive in the bathroom by her boyfriend in the couple’s home in the Veranda on the Green Apartments Saturday afternoon. Efforts to revive her at the scene were unsuccessful. Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said Sunday that initial autopsy results do not show any signs of “foul play”, but the death is still under investigation due to Ms. Mendez’s young age and that no cause of death has been determined at this time. In a press release Sunday afternoon Coroner Carlton said toxicology results should be available within ten days. ©
