Aiken County to hold Memorial and Burial service for unclaimed deceased

web posted May 29, 2009
AIKEN – The Aiken County Coroner's Office will be holding their annual Memorial and Burial service today at 9:30 am at the Calvary Cemetery on Gregg Highway in Aiken SC. The service is for the indigent and unclaimed Aiken County citizens that died in 2008 and 2009. "These are citizens who lived and died in Aiken County and we hope to honor their memories with this service," Aiken County Coroner Tim Clarton said in a released statement.

The deceased are as follows: Flora Coffield, Mary Lindsey, Oscar Mancio, Kelly Roman, and Dale Sengelman.

Officiating this service will be Pastor James Leblanc of St Mary's, Rev. Ed Thurman, and a reading by Sheree Hicks of Regency Hospice Care.

There will also be singing by the 2nd grade class of St. Mary's. This service was made possible by a community effort that included Cannon House Florist, New Future Grantie II, Clark Interment Service, Mr. Jim Kohl, George Funeral Home, Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, Hatcher Funeral Home, St. Mary's Help of Christian Catholic Church, and the Citizens of Aiken County.

The public is invited to attend this service that will begin promptly at 9:30 AM. The staff of the Aiken Country Coroner's Office would like to thank all who made this service possible. Mr. Carlton said, "I would personally like to thank by staff who put in many hours to make this possible".
