Payment Solutions Announces Service Center in Aiken, S.C.

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of
Commerce today joined the Economic Development Partnership of Aiken and
Edgefield Counties in announcing that Veracity Payment Solutions will
establish its customer service center in Aiken, S.C. The
company’s $3 million investment will bring 100 new jobs to the region.
“With tremendous support from the state and local governments and the
people of South Carolina, Veracity is proud to announce the opening of
our new call center in Aiken,” said Stephanie Sharp, Chief Financial
Officer, Veracity Payment Solutions. “We would like to thank the
Economic Development Partnership for coordinating our search efforts
and making this decision an easy one. With the benefits of the
readySC training program and the availability to access a highly
capable workforce due to the emerging retirement populations and
secondary educational systems here in Aiken, this area is a perfect fit
for Veracity. We look forward to a building a strong community
relationship with Aiken and world-class call center.”
The state’s worker training program, readySC™, has been nationally
recognized for its ability to offer customized training for businesses
and was ranked 4th in the nation by Expansion Management magazine.

skilled workforce is increasingly important. Today’s announcement
certainly speaks to our success in that regard as well as to our
efforts to improve the economic soil conditions for business
growth. We remain committed to continuing these efforts to keep
growing industry and creating jobs for more South Carolinians,” said
Gov. Mark Sanford.
“Veracity offers a full range of services including payment processing
and information services for its clients. The company depends on
skilled workers to deliver its products successfully, that is why
Veracity’s commitment to bring new jobs to Aiken further demonstrates
strength and diversity of our workforce. Thanks to the team
efforts of state and local officials, Veracity is will be a great
addition to our business community,” said Joe Taylor, Secretary of
Commerce.
Veracity will establish a customer service center in the former Belk at
Kalmia Plaza during the first quarter of 2008.
The company will start with approximately one-third of the space
(13,000 sq ft) with intentions to grow into the entire building over
time. Veracity currently has temporary office space in the same
shopping center.
“We are excited by Veracity's commitment to create new jobs in
Aiken County. I am confident they will find a well-qualified
workforce that will exceed their expectations. This is the start
of a great relationship,” said Ronnie Young, Chairman, Aiken County
Council.
“The service sector is the fastest growing segment of our local
economy. Veracity continues this trend. They will provide
well-paid, skilled jobs that will further diversify our employment
base,” said John Troutman, Chairman, Economic Development Partnership.
“We are excited that Veracity is coming to Aiken and will locate in the
former Belk at Kalmia Plaza. Veracity is a great match and the
employment opportunities they will create are most welcome,” said Fred
Cavanaugh, Mayor, City of Aiken.
