Captured: Edgefield County Father and Son Arrested in Aiken Murder

web posted November 14, 2012

AIKEN – The Aiken County Sheriff's Office has captured David Rosier Jr. and Joseph Rosier in connection with the weekend shooting death of 20-year-old Donnie James Davis of Bath on Saturday night. Both suspects were taken into custody and David Rosier Jr. has been charged with murder. The murder charge against Joseph Rosier has been dropped to assault and battery for his part in the fight that took place prior to the shooting.

According to The Jail Report, The motive for the shooting appears to involve methamphetamine, Capt. Troy Elwell said

Witnesses said the Davis was visiting the Church Street home when the Rosier's arrived and started an argument with Davis. According to an incident report, witness told authorities that David Rosier shot Davis in the face with an unknown caliber handgun and the father and son then fled the scene in the Ford Explorer.

"As the investigation continues into the murder of Donnie Davis, the Aiken County Sheriffs Office will no longer be charging Joseph Allen Rosier with murder," Capt. Elwell said in an afternoon press release. "It has been determined that his father David Eugene Rosier is responsible for Donnie Davis's death."
