  Suspicious death of Warrenville man ruled homicide web posted November 21, 2009 AIKEN – Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said Friday afternoon that the discovery of a 68-year-old Warrenville man found dead in his home has been ruled a homicide. John Barrs was found dead in his home early Friday by a caregiver who notified authorities. Coroner Carlton said at the time the death was “suspicious” and released the findings of an autopsy conducted later in the day saying Barrs was killed by “blunt force trauma” from an unknown type of weapon. The time of death is stated to be between 8 pm Thursday and sometime early Friday morning when the body was discovered. The homicide is being investigated by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office. Very few additional details were available at press time. © Copyright 2009
