  Aiken man murdered in alleged, “drug deal gone bad” web posted November 24, 2009 AIKEN – A shooting has left one man dead and Aiken County Investigators looking for a suspect. 35-year-old Paul Joseph Lirley of Marvin Drive in Aiken was shot in what the Aiken County Coroner’s Office is calling a “drug deal gone bad.” Mr. Lirley was fatally shot by an unknown assailant. He was pronounced dead at the scene near Crestland Dr. and Weston Dr. around 7 pm Monday evening. An autopsy is scheduled in Newberry SC today to determine the cause of death. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide. The Aiken Coroner's Office and the Aiken County Sheriff's Office are investigating. No description of the alleged shoot has been released. This is the 15th homicide reported in Aiken County this year. © Copyright 2009
