Religion: Summer Loving
By Pastor Phillip Howle
web reposted May 15, 2013

RELIGION – “Summer loving have a blast, summer loving happened so fast.” Now, you can blame me for getting this song stuck in your head all day, but as I was humming this tune the other day a thought came to me about how much people love summer. I am more of a spring and fall guy, my propensity to sweat, aversion to mosquitoes, and skin that abhors the uv rays does not make this time of year my favorite season. But for many, all year is spent looking forward to summer. And with good reason, school is out, the lake is close by, time off from work, frequent gatherings with friends and family, almost perfect right? Sure. All expect one other little thing that corresponds to summer, skipping church.

I had a bad experience. I was a young 12 year old in the 12-14 year old league. It was the last game of the season and I was facing the hardest throwing pitcher in the league. He threw hard and inside and nailed me in the kidney area and I wanted to die. I don’t blame the pitcher now, I was a huge target and probably swallowed the plate (I weighed as much back then as I do now!) But I got on base. Then the coach put in a pinch runner, I don’t blame him I was a crying fat kid.

Letter to the Editor: Fair Tax HR25 Ends Power Peddling in Congress
web posted May 3, 2013
Dear Editor;
The #1 reason to repeal the income tax is to end evil. The income tax is evil because it puts government before God's directive that we are free and given our liberty by God, not government. We are free. What we create is ours to do with as we elect. Man has agreed to exchange some freedom for advantages offered by living in a group. Key to that concept is the principle that man, not government by force, willingly agreed to this pact. Free men can way, "This is mine. You cannot take it without my consent."
