RELIGION – We need new wedding vows. I have done a good many weddings and I allow the couple much freedom in their vows. I will not allow anything unbiblical or plain stupid in a service I conduct. But most couples settle on something like the following. “I, ______, take you ______, to be my wedded wife. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, I pledge to you my faithfulness.” This is a good vow. It seems to promise martial faithfulness.

Religion: Foxes and Pinky Toes

RELIGION – I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. My family did enjoy our time together; expect for one little interruption, my wife’s pinky toe. You read that right, my wife’s pinky toe. Pray right now for it, please. About two weeks ago she was chasing baby Luke who is on the verge of walking, but a crazy fast crawler, when she managed to catch that cute pinky toe on the doorframe. It turned colors and she said it hurt pretty badly. A little limping ensued. Then a few days later it seemed to be improving when my son’s battery powered 4-wheeler came barreling towards it and ran over the side of her foot and the little pinky toe. My son Cason, seeing mommy cry, felt awful about it the battery powered vehicular injury he had inflected on mommy.
