Rodney
Ashcraft for Edgefield County Council District 2
Rodney Ashcraft is running for County
Council Seat 2. He is challenging the incumbent Everett Kitchens
as a republican. He is presently involved with the Edgefield
Alliance and has served as Chairman of the Structure Committee.
During that time he and his team traveled to surrounding counties and
interviewed people who were key in the economic development of those
counties. Bringing this knowledge back to Edgefield he has
acquainted the Alliance as to how the other counties operate.
Ashcraft recognizes the areas of our county that are an asset and will
promote them to enable the financial well being of the whole
county. "I believe that Edgefield County needs to move
aggressively into the twenty first century. I will make every
effort to move us positively in that direction."
In addition to the Alliance, Rodney has participated in programs such
as the James L. Hammons Marine Corps League of Aiken SC, the American
Legion in Edgefield, Meals on Wheels in Edgefield and Golden Harvest
Food Bank in Augusta.
Ashcraft says that unlike the present Council incumbent, he will
meet regularly with the constituents of district 2 during his term; and
if they have any concerns they can contact him at (803) 215-9000 or rodneyashcraft@yahoo.com.
He is working hard to get around to as many citizens as possible so
that he can ask face to face for their votes and the issues they want
him to address as their next councilman. "If elected I will
consider myself blessed with the opportunity to serve the citizens of
District Two."
He would like to remind the concerned citizens of Edgefield County that
the primary is on June 10 but all voters must be registered by Friday
the 9th of May in order to vote at the upcoming primary.
