  Updated 11:40 am
BETTIS ACADEMY – EMS and First Responders have been called to a collision involving a school bus with students on board on Mosley Drive Thursday morning. At this time it is unknown if another vehicle is involved. Mosley Drive is closed at the time of this report and only emergency personnel are allowed beyond the Bettis Academy Road intersection.

EMS, Trenton, County Line, and Merriwether Fire Departments and First Responders were called to the scene. At this time it does not appear that any of the students were seriously injured, however; at least four were being prepared for transport to area hospitals to be checked for injuries.

Details of the crash are not available at this time and the scene is closed to outside traffic.

Edgefield Daily will have more as information becomes available.

UPDATE: According to the Edgefield County School District, the driver of the bus swerved to miss a deer and lost control. No other vehicles were involved.A second bus arrived to transport the remaining children.
