Won’t take no for an answer Edgefielddaily.com web posted June 6, 2005 Saundra Curry, who has rallied for a red light at the intersection of Bettis Academy Road and Highway 25 refuses to take no for an answer. As Edgefield Daily.com reported, Curry has made every effort possible to get the attention of county and state officials in regard to the number of traffic accidents at the intersection she calls one of Edgefield County’s “deadliest.” Ms. Curry has forced the issue including meetings with SCDOT officials which did not produce the desired effect. In response Ms. Curry has issued a request to local residents in a letter which requests the support of local residents to show up at the next County Council meeting on June 7, 2005. “Can I count on you?” he letter ends. Though the county has little influence on the matter of where traffic signals go in, Edgefield Daily.com will follow the issue as it proceeds. Return to Main Page
