 Burglary attempt reported web posted July 28, 2006 BETTIS ACADEMY – An attempted burglary was reported to the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday night. The resident on Bettis Academy Extention discovered the event upon arriving home just after 7:00 pm. When the deputy arrived the man showed the deputy where a chair had been placed at a window and a screen had been removed. It appeared someone had attempted to, or did, gain entry into the home. Everything inside the home seemed to be in place and no items were found missing. The man told the deputy he believed a subject had in fact gained entry to the home and gave the officer the name of that individual. The deputy did try to make contact with that individual but those attempts were unsuccessful. The homeowner was advised of warrant procedures. For
