Gang Graffiti Left at Burglary Scene
web posted January 1, 2013
COUNTY LINE – A Casalina Drive woman
reported finding a mobile home she rents a few blocks from her home
burglarized Sunday afternoon. No one is living at the home right now
and when she went to check on the property she found the front door
forced open and two air conditioners missing. Inside the mobile home
were several "taggings" by the "2-5 gang" on the walls and ceiling.
The woman reported that the two air conditioners were valued at a total
of $1,100, however; she did not have serial numbers or model numbers
for the units. According to an incident report, the entire home had
been "ransacked", but nothing else was reported missing.
The existence of gangs around the county has been prevalent since 2007 and 2008,
including the "2-5 gang" which is located around the lower portion of
Highway 25 in Edgefield County, hence the name the "2-5's".
The case has been turned over to the Edgefield County Sheriff's
Criminal Investigative Division for further investigation.
