Carriee Lane Woman Reports Fraudulent Loans in Her Name

web posted January 10, 2014

COUNTY LINE A Carriee Lane woman called the Sheriff's Office after she was contacted by two different finance companies seeking repayment of loans totaling over $2,700. Loans the woman reports she never applied for and never received any check from the companies. However, both companies reported that both checks made out to her had been cashed.

The woman told the deputy that the first check was for $2,043.11 and was cashed on October 2, 2013, and the second from the other company was for $690.58 and was cashed on November 25, 2013. The woman denied any knowledge of the loans and said she never cashed or deposited any check from either company.

According to an incident report, the woman said she was not the only person that had access to her mail, though no possible suspects were listed on the report.

All information was gathered and turned over to the Sheriff's Criminal Investigative Division for further investigation.
