Burglary Suspect Identified, More Information Released

web posted May 20, 2014

COUNTY LINE A suspect arrested shortly after fighting with a homeowner who walked in during a Friday night burglary has been identified as Jeremy Michael Langlois, 21. He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond for burglary in the second degree since his arrest. The homeowner said Langlois produced something metal that he took as a gun and then punched him in the face and an altercation ensued until Langlois ran from the scene.

According to an incident report, Langlois was a former roommate at the home, but left some time ago. When the homeowner came home he found Langlois going through his property and confronted him. A white female was said to have been standing outside when the owner arrived.

Sheriff's Deputies set up a perimeter around the area arriving just minutes after Langlois fled the scene. While a deputy and an investigator were obtaining information from the victim, a deputy reported that Langlois "ran towards" him and he drew his service weapon and ordered him to the ground and was taken into custody.

After the investigator was given permission to process the home for evidence by the owner suspected drugs were found, a "false bottom coffee creamer can", used as a secret safe for small items, and other evidence was seized from the home. Those items will be tested and additional charges are possible pending the outcome of the investigation.

The female was never located, according to the report.
