Calf. Rep. Waters: “this liberal will be about socializing” oil
companies
A
Column by the Editor

posted May 26, 2008
COLUMN – In a “dog and pony show”
questioning of oil executives by a House panel Thursday, Rep. Maxine
Waters, D-Calif., slipped up and gave America an insight into the
“liberal” agenda she, and her liberal friends, holds. A report by Fox
News posted on YouTube.com shows Waters challenging the president of
Shell Oil, John Hofmeister, to guarantee the prices consumers pay will
go down if the oil companies are allowed to drill wherever they want
off U.S. shores.
In the clip Hofmeister states, "I can guarantee to the American people,
because of the inaction of the United States Congress, ever-increasing
prices unless the demand comes down." He continued saying paying $5 a
gallon, "will look like a very low price in the years to come if we are
prohibited from finding new reserves, new opportunities to increase
supplies."
Rather than accept the fact Waters and her fellow Democrats, and some
Republicans, are stopping America from reaching an equivalent equal to
40% of our yearly needs right here at home, she held the liberal line
of attacking “big oil”.
Waters responded by saying in part, "And guess what this liberal would
be all about. This liberal will be about socializing … uh, um. …"
Recognizing she just let the liberal agenda out of the bag she paused
to collect her thoughts and continued, "Would be about…, basically…,
taking over…, and the government running all of your companies."
The oil executives responded, according to Fox News, by saying they've
“seen this movie before, in Hugo Chavez's Venezuela”.
The footage of Waters’ remarks can be viewed
here. High-speed internet is recommended.
So the Democrat plan for lower gas prices, or at least according to
“liberal” Maxine Waters, is to take over an industry politicians have
no clue how to run and are, in fact, the main cause of lowered domestic
production that leads to higher prices to begin with.
Only a liberal could be so stupid.
Of course, let’s not forget these same liberals want to take over your
healthcare too.
I have seen what the Federal Government has done with Welfare,
Government Housing, and the constant decline in educational standards
once they took control of them. The best thing government could do for
America is to get the heck out of the way and let Americans do what
they do best, excel in their fields.
How discomforting it is to hear a Congressional member speak about her
desire that our Congress becoming an oppressive government while we
honor those who died defeating oppressive governments.
How “patriotic”.
