Evolution is for people who have never had
children Edgefielddaily.com web posted October 27, 2005 A Column by the Editor I am a firm believer that evolution is impossible. I do not base that on scientific evidence but rather historical evidence. Since written history has been known to mankind the plight of the teenager has been played out repeatedly throughout the ages. I guess the only evolution I believe in is the tried and proven fact that parents evolve throughout the life of their children. At first they know everything, and then they know nothing, and later in the child’s adult life parents know everything again. In the end they learn what you already knew because you have been there, done that, suffered the consequences and just do not want your child to make the same stupid mistakes you made. All of course after you child trying to prove that they are smarter than you at the wonderful age of 18 when you are over 40. This is how an advanced species advances? Duplicating foolishness over and over again throughout the ages is advancement? Okay, we have this walking on two legs thing down pretty pat. We have the top of the food chain point sown up. Well, excluding the vegetarians who scare the life out of my house plants when they walk in. Plants “feel pain” too you know. But I digress. No one will ever convince me that even cave men did not suffer through wondering why their offspring would do something they knew was so foolish to begin with. I can just see Mr. Ug looking at his wife Oooo and throwing his hands in the air as their kid runs out of the cave chasing a T-rex with a sharp stick. Maybe man has never evolved and it is just that now we protect the foolish to produce more foolish people. Man certainly did not “evolve” from the fierce fool that stood against giant dinosaurs with sharp sticks; he is “evolved” from the quick little sucker that had enough common sense to duck into a cave. There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity. Anyone who believes in evolution has never tried to raise three teenagers. If anything, you would believe the species is progressively moving backward, not forward.
