Glory to God - The Healing Continues

A Column by the Editor
web posted June 24, 2015

COLUMN On Monday we went to see my doctor to get the results of my most recent PET scan tracking the progress of my chemo treatments over the last four treatments. As you may recall, the last report was nothing short of miraculous with all of the areas affected with cancer shrinking, including the original tumor, and all of them were a lot less "active". We gave God all the glory as the chemo drug was not supposed to have such a profound effect, but having given all of this over to God we knew where the healing was coming from, almighty God.

We, along with many of you, have been praying for the healing to continue. We prayed on the way to the doctor's office that the results would be just as promising and God did not let us down.

The lymph nodes that had shrunk and had become a lot less active continued to shrink and become even less active. In the last report, one node in my abdomen was discounted as not even mattering anymore. This time that node along with the others were gone. My bride asked if she heard that right and he repeated it, "they went away".

The ones in my neck and chest were even less active than before and were continuing to shrink. Even the tumor that started it all had dropped from 4.2 to 2.6, a level the doctor was not expecting. 2.6 is a level that shows the area is almost inactive.

My blood work continues to come back near perfect and my liver and spleen continue to "look good".

We have dropped the drug cisplatin from one of the drugs used in the treatments. It is usually stopped after four treatments, but with the earlier results being so dramatic, and my blood work being so good we continued it for the next four treatments. It was the one that made treatments last seven hours and gave me the growingly bad side affect of fatigue.

Without it my last treatment on Monday lasted a little over an hour and, though I still have some of the lingering side affects, there was nothing new.

What it all boils down to is God, to His glory, is working towards my healing. We continue to pray for a total healing, and in the case of the nodes in my abdomen, He is doing just that. To hear the words "they are gone" is proof of God's power. And it is all to His glory.

Please keep praying with us that God will completely heal me. All things are possible with God.
