Hey Obama: You're Still Lying!

A Column By the Editor
web posted September 22, 2011

COLUMN – The media has never let anyone forget about Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) yelling out "You lie!" at Obama's State of the Union address. It turns out Wilson was right and the "main stream media" tries its dead best to make sure no one remembers that. Now we have Obama touting a "jobs bill" that is filled with new taxes and new spending ranting 18 times during the speech to "pass this bill" (when there was no bill to pass).

To prove Einstein right, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results", Obama has now doubled down with his $1.5 Trillion debt reduction plan full of new taxes, new borrowing, more debt, and growing government on top of his tax raising jobs bill with a half trillion in new spending. Remind me how well that worked out with his first trillion dollar "stimulus"?

The only phrases getting repeated more often than "pass this bill now" are "the rich paying their fair share" and "millionaires and billionaires". Those evil rich Obama wants to target to get reelected by those in the 47% of people who pay no federal income taxes and, in fact, get money back in "tax credits" on money they never paid in. Nice gig if you can get it.

Unlike the lucky 47%, I pay taxes every year and that has gone up every year that Obama has been in office.

But what about his claim that his two new "bills" will be done in "fairness" (another code word for higher taxes) and that those who he knows will attack his plan as "class warfare" should have to explain themselves in doing so?

Fair enough, it won't take long because unlike Obama's empty political rhetoric speeches, the American people have the facts. I guess Obama thinks the people are as dumb as his fellow Democrat leaders in Congress.

Case in point:
Obama: "It is wrong that in the United States of America, a teacher or a nurse or a construction worker who earns $50,000 should pay higher tax rates than somebody pulling in $50 million."

No, Mr. Obama. It would be wrong if that were the case. However, your false premise destroys your claim.

The top 10% of income earners pay 70% of all federal taxes, according to the IRS. Take into account that the IRS also reports that 46% of tax filers pay nothing in income taxes and many get "refunds" from "tax credits" they never earned. The remaining 30% of all federal taxes are paid for by the middle class, who Obama targets as "millionaires", though their total income is around $200,000 a year.

90% of those filers are small business owners who create 85% of all new jobs. They are the "millionaires and billionaires" that are being targeted.

Now, to the Warren Buffet's of the world. It is true his "tax rate" is low because he only pays himself $100,000 a year. The rest of his income is from dividends and capital gains which is taxed at 15%. That is profit earned on money that was invested after it had already been taxed before being invested.

Of course, Billionaire Warren Buffet isn't worried about his "income taxes" going up because he only pays himself $100,000 a year in salary, so the tax hikes won't affect him, only the small business owners.

Not to mention that Warren Buffet can write a check to the federal government to overpay his taxes as a donation if he wanted. There is a line on tax forms to do so. Has he done that? No.

In fact, Warrant Buffet hasn't paid almost $1 Billion in taxes he has accumulated over the past 10 years. It must be nice to have friends in the White House who will give you a metal for being a great American and name a special tax after you when you haven't paid your taxes for a decade.

According to a surprising story by the Associate Press after Obama's last speech plan, "This year, households making more than $1 million will pay an average of 29.1 percent of their income in federal taxes, including income taxes, payroll taxes and other taxes, according to the Tax Policy Center, a Washington think tank.

Households making between $50,000 and $75,000 will pay an average of 15 percent of their income in federal taxes.

Lower-income households will pay less. For example, households making between $40,000 and $50,000 will pay an average of 12.5 percent of their income in federal taxes. Households making between $20,000 and $30,000 will pay 5.7 percent."

So if Obama is wanting to "call out" anyone who doubts his lies, let me be the first to turn myself in to his snitch on your neighbor (and laughing stock of the internet) website "AttackWatch". After all, I just proved Obama is lying again.

And if anyone wants to doubt what those "fundamental changes" to America Obama promised would be, I defer to Sheldon Richman in the Concise Encyclopedia of Economics:

"As an economic system, fascism is socialism with a capitalistic veneer. In its day (the 1920's and 1930's), fascism was seen as the happy medium between boom-and-bust-prone capitalism, with its alleged class conflict, wasteful competition, and profit-oriented egoism, and Marxism, with its violent socially divisive prosecution of the bourgeoisie.

Where socialism abolished all market relations outright, fascism left the appearance of market relations while planning all economic activities. Where socialism abolished money and prices; fascism controlled the monetary system (The Fed) and set all prices and wages (Minimum wage) politically

Under fascism, the state, through
official agencies, controlled all aspects of manufacturing, commerce, finance, and agriculture.  Licensing was ubiquitous; no economic activity could be undertaken without government permission.  Levels of consumption were dictated by the state, and "excess" incomes had to be surrendered as taxes or "loans".

To maintain high employment and minimize popular discontent, fascist governments also undertook massive public-works programs financed by steep taxes, borrowing and fiat money creation."

That is a distraction to keep the sheeple blaming the evil rich, not the government, or more directly the President, for its failings.

Uh oh. Somebody better report me for calling him a fascist too.
