Beef Stuffed Pizza web posted September 11, 2006 Ingredients: 1/2 lb. lean ground beef 1 lrg. onion, minced 1 cup chopped mushrooms 1 tsp. Italian seasoning, crushed 1 tsp.salt 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese 1 can (8 oz.) pizza sauce 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves Ingredients For Dough: 1 pkg. active dry yeast 1 cup water,105 to 115 degrees F 1 tsp. each sugar and salt 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour Crumble beef into skillet. Add onion and mushrooms. Cook over med. heat until beef is no longer pink. Add Italian seasoning and salt. In a bowl, dissolve yeast in the warm water. Add sugar and salt. Slowly stir in flour and beat well, until smooth. Knead for 5 mins. Cover and let rise for 30 mins. Divide dough into two equal parts. Grease a 12-inch pizza pan. Press one half of dough into bottom of pan. Cover bottom evenly and build up the sides. Cover crust with beef mixture and top with 1 cup of the cheese. Roll out second half of dough. Cover top of previously made pizza with this layer of dough. Seal edges. Prick top all over. Spread top with pizza sauce and top with remaining cheese. Sprinkle with oregano. Bake at 450 degrees for 20 mins. or until crust is done and cheese is melted. Yields 1- 12-inch pizza. For
