![]() Oven-Barbecued Beef Brisket web posted October 30, 2006 Ingredients: 1--3-3/1/2 lb. fresh beef brisket 3/4 cup water 1/2 cup chopped onion 3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp. apple cider or white wine vinegar 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules 1/8 tsp. ground red pepper 2 cloves garlic,minced 1-1/2 cups Barbecue Sauce Trim fat from meat,optional. Place meat in a 13x9x2-inch baking pan. In a small bowl, stir together, water,onion, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, vinegar,bouillon granules, red pepper and garlic. Pour over meat. Cover with foil. Bake in a 325 degree oven for about 3 hours or until tender, turning once. Remove meat. Discard juices. Thinly slice meat across the grain. Place on a serving platter. Serve with warm barbecue sauce. For Barbecue Sauce: In a med. sauce pan, cook 1/2 cup finely chopped onion.and 2 cloves garlic,minced in hot oil until onion is tender. Stir in 3/4 cup of apple juice, 1/2 of a 6-oz. can of tomato paste, 1/4 cup vinegar, 2 tbsp. brown sugar, 2 tbsp. mollasses, 1 tbsp. paprika, 1 tbsp. prepared horseradish. 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce.Salt and pepper, to taste.Bring to boiling. Reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, about 30 mins. or until desired consistency, stirring occasionally. Brush on briskett during the last 10 mins. of grilling. Yields about 1-1/3 cups. For
