Cook on med. heat until mixture comes to a full boil.stirring constantly. Do not let thicken to pudding consistency. Leave a little thin. Pour over wafers and bananas in dish. let set about 8 or 9 mins. Put 3 egg whites in sm. bowl and beat on med. until they start to peak. Add sugar slowly, while beating. Add vanilla flavoring. Keep beating until the consistency is forming firm peaks. Spread meringue mixture evenly over the banana and wafers in dish. Use the back of a tbsp. to form small peaks over entire top of dish. Place in preheated oven on broil for about 4 mins, until meringue peaks are slightly browned. Do not over cook, Meringue will burn fast.
