Search for County Administrator continues
web
posted September 22, 2009
EDGEFIELD – The search for a new county
administrator continues with another executive session meeting being
called for September 30, where county council members will narrow their
list of applicants to three finalists.
The county council members received the entire list of
eighteen applicants last week in an executive session meeting for
initial review.
County Council Chairman Monroe Kneece said Monday that he believes the
council can reach a consensus for the top three candidates in the next
meeting, which made interim administrator Barbara Stark smile with the
prospect of the new administrator being hired soon.
Ms. Stark, Clerk to
County Council, stepped into the position when former Administrator
John Pettigrew suddenly stepped down earlier this month.
Chairman Kneece said once three finalists have been chosen the council
will begin interviews, hopefully the first week of October, and will
then make their selection for the administrator.
The vote to hire would most likely come at the November 3 meeting,
although a called meeting could be scheduled before then to make an
official offer.
EdgefieldDaily.com will have another update on the hiring of the new
county administrator once the three finalists have been named.
