Burglary, two attempts reported in two days
web
posted January 31, 2009
COUNTY – Though the number of
burglaries had taken a dip for a few days this month that has changed
in the last week. Just this week there has been at least one reported
burglary and three attempted burglaries. A surprise as the week before
a General Sessions Court period is usually very quiet.
On Thursday afternoon the owner of Earth Link Nutrition reported
finding his business on the 1600 block of Edgefield Road broken into
and at least $5,000 worth of nutritional products missing. According to
incident reports, an unknown subject or subject were claimed to have
entered through a “cracked” window in a back room and made off with the
supplements.
The deputy noticed the cracked window and the screen was found to be
“replaced” after the alleged crime. The Sheriff’s Forensic Investigator
was called to process the scene to process evidence.
Between Tuesday and Wednesday three other attempted burglaries were
also reported on the south end of the county. Among them Tuesday’s
report that the Old Piney Grove Baptist Church reported finding pry
marks on the doors next to the main building although no entry was
gained.
Wednesday brought two more similar reports of pry marks on doors. The
first came in at 10 am from the True green Lawn Care business on
Shortcut Road. Upon opening the business Wednesday the door to one of
the warehouses was “difficult to open” and was found to have been
tampered with. No one was able to get inside the building and nothing
was reported stolen.
Just before 6 pm a Cheves Creek Road woman arrived to the family home
and found pry marks on the front door. After a deputy arrived a further
inspection found similar marks on the second door to the home. Entry to
the hoe was not obtained and nothing was reported stolen.
All cases are currently being investigated.
