Elderly Legal Services Program available web posted February 2, 2009 COUNTY – The upper Savannah Elderly Legal Services are available in the Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, and Saluda Counties for senior citizens age 60 or older. The Elderly Legal Services Program can pay for legal fees to participating attorneys through funding from the Older Americans Act. Referrals are made to area attorneys for legal assistance with: Development of a simple will or for will revision Executions of financial powers of attorney (durable powers of attorney) Appointments of a guardian or conservator Resolution of denial of public benefits Resolution of landlord/tenant housing issues where the senior is at risk of eviction The point of contact for the above counties is Barbara Wright (800) 922-7729 Lower Savannah Elderly Legal Services in Aiken, Allendale, Calhoun, Bamberg, Barnwell, and Orangeburg counties should contact Susan Green at (803) 649-7981 © Copyright 2009
