ATC’s College Goal Saturday Event to Offer Community Free FAFSA Completion Assistance

web posted February 21, 2014

COUNTY – Aiken Technical College will host a College Goal Saturday event on Feb. 22 to provide college-bound students and their parents with free assistance in beginning the financial aid process. The event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will take place in ATC’s Academic Success Center, located in the 700 Building. The event is open to any student planning to apply to ATC or any other college or university.

Students will be able to receive free assistance completing and filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Completing the FAFSA is the first step to receiving financial aid and is typically required by most institutions for students who plan to pay for college with the help of grants, student loans, work study funds and scholarships.

Students who attend the College Goal Saturday event will also be able to receive advice from financial aid professionals, learn about the steps in the financial aid process, and more.

Students should visit http://www.pin.ed.gov to obtain their individualized PIN number for the FAFSA application prior to the event, and bring the PIN with them.
