  Sheriff's Office Most Wanted: Suspected Sex Offender Still at Large web posted March 4, 2013  COUNTY – The Edgefield County Sheriff's
Office is still seeking the arrest of a suspected sex offender. Edward
James Gilkerson, 27, is wanted for the sexual assault on a minor. A
warrant for his arrest was issued on January 30, of 2012, in connection
to the case. Gilkerson has avoided arrest in spite of attempts to
arrest him, including a recent raid on a Westside residence resulting
in one arrest.Wilkerson is wanted for a charge of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree with a minor and theft of electrical current. Gilkerson is described as a white male standing 6' 2" tall and weighs between 190 and 200 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on Gilkerson's whereabouts is asked to call the Edgefield County Sheriff's Office at once at 803-637-5337, including calling 911 if you have a visual on the suspect.
