2nd Annual Golf Tournament to Honor Edgefield Native Jonathan Simpkins

COUNTY – The Jo Nathan Foundation will be
hosting its 2nd Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the
Goshen Plantation Golf Course in Augusta, Ga. to honor the life of
Jonathan Simpkins. Jonathan was a native of Edgefield and a 1995
graduate of Strom Thurmond High School. He is also the son of Jackie
and Walter Simpkins, both of Edgefield. Before his untimely death on
September 18, 1998, Jonathan “Jo-Nathan” Simpkins was majoring in
Electrical Engineering at South Carolina State University and was a
year away from receiving his degree.
The price for the tournament is $75 per golfer, which includes 18 holes
of golf, cart fee, and lunch provided by Outback. There is a 9:00am
Shotgun Start on Monday, April 15th and for more information about the

The mission of The Jo-Nathan Foundation is to inspire underprivileged
and at-risk youth by providing opportunities to attend summer camps and
other educational activities via tuition or fee sponsorship. The
foundation was able to assist 4 youth attend summer camps last year and
was able to purchase school supplies for 350 children. The goal is to
assist at least 15 youth this summer and purchase school supplies for
500 children.
