 Historic Election; Twelve seek four of five council seats: Sunday may bring challenge of fifth seat web posted March 29, 2008 COUNTY – More candidates have joined the race with four of five county council seats now challenged. Others are still in talks about running. For those, time is running out as filing for office closes Sunday, March 30 at noon. Not all candidates that have filed have made official announcements at this time and EdgefieldDaily.com will carry each as they make it formal. Below is a complete list of those currently filed and their respective race as of 6 pm Saturday. A full report will be online Monday. Never before has Edgefield County seen so many candidates and, according to many locals, this could be the first time that all five seats of the county council are being challenged in a single election.
