  Water Restrictions announced for county water customers web posted May 28, 2007 COUNTY – The Edgefield County Water and Sewer Authority has issued mandatory landscape watering restrictions for all county water customers. The restrictions are effective immediately. Failure to adhere to the restrictions will result in fines and could lead to the termination of water services. Customers with addresses ending with even numbers will be allowed to water on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between the hours of 6 am – 10 am or 6 pm – 10 pm only. Customers with addresses ending with odd numbers will be allowed to water on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday during the same hours. No watering will be allowed on Sundays. Violations of the watering restrictions will result in a warning for the first offense, a $50 fine for the second, a $100 fine for the third, and termination of service for a forth offense. Customers whose water service is terminated can restore service after paying $200. Customers who are unable to comply with the restrictions may request a variance by contacting the Edgefield Water and Sewer Authority at 803-637-3011 or 803-279-1503. Each will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may require a site visit by ECWSA personnel to determine the validity of the claim.
