Rumors of resignations no longer rumors - School District CFO, MES Principal make it official

web posted June 10, 2009
COUNTY – Three resignations were received recently at the Edgefield County School District. Rumors circling of the School District’s Chief financial Officer Teresa Clark, well over a week ago, became reality when she tendered her resignation at the District office. Parents in Merriwether were already talking about a double whammy at Merriwether Elementary.

Principal Gene Huiet and Assistant Principal Robert Ellis have also turned in resignations leaving a gapping hole at one of the top rated schools in the county. Rumors of Mr. Huiet’s resignation began to circulate in emails about the same time as those of Mrs. Clark.

There was no official reason given for the resignations, simply a confirmation that the resignations have been received.

According to the district’s website, the positions were posted as vacant on Saturday June 6 and the acceptance for applications will be closed on Monday June 15.

Another position, that of a Curriculum Coordinator for an Elementary /Middle School, is also open and will be closing for applicants next Monday as well.
