Greg Anderson takes landslide victory over Aiken challenger for
Democrat nomination
web
posted June 11, 2008
COUNTY – Edgefield County Attorney Greg
Anderson took a landslide victory over Travis Johnson of Aiken in the
District 25 Democrat Primary on Tuesday assuring that two Edgefield
County residents will be vying for the seat this fall.
Sen. Shane Massey won the seat after a special election last year and
was unopposed in the Republican Primary. Greg Anderson took 70% of the
votes in the four county race defeating Travis Johnson 2,497 votes to
1,082. Anderson will face off against Sen. Massey in November.
Sen. Massey said Monday night at the Republican Party meeting in
Edgefield he was thankful he did not have to face a primary election.
Democrat nominee Greg Anderson took in the results of the race at the
Edgefield County Courthouse and will be gearing up his campaign for
November in the weeks to come.
EdgefieldDaily.com will have more on this campaign later this week with
both candidates outlook on the race.
