Women help nab thief web posted June 30, 2006 COUNTY – Two women on Macedonia Road, off Highway 25, called the Sheriff’s Officer to report a man taking items from their yards Wednesday morning around noon. When the deputy arrived the women said they each called due to stolen items. The first woman informed the deputy she saw a man taking a shovel from her yard. The second woman stated she came home to find several items missing, including a top to a birdbath, and other items were “toppled over” in the yard. The deputy located the man who was sweeping up an item taken from one of the properties that had been dropped and broken. The deputy asked the man what he was doing and his response was “nothing”. The deputy escorted the man back to his home and met with met with the man’s brother. The brother gave permission for the deputy to search the home. As the deputy, along with the victims, arrived at the back porch the victims began identifying items that were stolen from their property. The items were photographed and returned to the rightful owners. The man, Christopher Rory Moody, 40, of the 100 block of Macedonia Drive was arrested and booked into the Edgefield County Detention Center on charges of petite larceny. For
