 Storms leave trees down and power out Friday night web posted July 29, 2006 COUNTY – Two strong storm systems that moved across the county Friday night left some areas without power and several trees down across roadways beginning around 9 pm. Reports of trees down and debris in the road were called into dispatchers from Garrett Road, Rainsford Road, Vann Road, Plumb Branch and Highway 25 at the pecan grove just before the Pinehouse intersection. Edgefield County Deputies were trying to clear one call while more calls continued to come in. South Carolina DOT workers were also called out to remove the trees deputies were unable to clear from the roadways. Associated with the storms were high winds, heavy rain, and some reports of hail. The storms continued to move through the county well into the night bringing much needed rain. For
