  Pro Rodeo set for this weekend web posted October 25, 2006 COUNTY – The Sandy Oaks Pro Rodeo will be held this weekend with professional riders from across the county and Canada participating. The rodeo will begin on Friday at the Lazy J Arena located just 10 miles west of Edgefield on Highway 23. Gates will open at 6 pm. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the gate, children ages 6 – 11 are $5. “We are going to have one heck of a rodeo,” Sandy Quarles said, inviting everyone to attend. There will be 14 states and Canada represented. There are going to be 4 World Champions, 6 past World Champions, and 1 All-round-World Champion. There will be participants in all 8 events; Bareback, Saddle Bronco, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Tie Down Roping, Cowgirl Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, and Barrel Racing. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Crouch Hardware, Country Boy Feed & Seed, Aiken Saddlery, Heritage Hardware, Tidwell Jewelers, Mexicali (Aiken), and the McCormick Messenger.
