web posted November 16, 2005 ABOVE: Sen. South Carolina State Senator Tommy Moore and State Representative William “Bill” Clyburn also welcomed the local representatives of the various counties represented. The near two hundred attendees filled the conference room at Kendall Mill to hear the week’s agenda. BELOW:Rep. Bill Clyburn and Edgefield Mayor Bob McKie The conference will be continuing through Thursday. Mrs. Traxler, SCATT President, said she was proud to host the event in Edgefield County in order to show off the history and beauty of the county. The economic impact was also a plus she added. What that impact would be was unknown but many off conference tours, outings, events, and meals will make use of local businesses such as a chartered tour that will end with a seafood dinner at Old McDonald Fish Camp in Merriwether. When asked how his campaign for 2006 South Carolina Governor was going Senator Moore said with a smile, “it’s been busy, very busy,” and would not comment further.
