Aiken Electric Co-op Reaches
100% Local United Way Support

web posted November 19, 2008
COUNTY – The Edgefield Area Office of Aiken Electric Cooperative, always a strong supporter of the United Way of Edgefield County, reached 100 percent participation in this year’s campaign.

This significant milestone is even more impressive since the Edgefield Office has not only achieved that level of participation for the past several years, but also increased their giving.

Todd Scoggins, Aiken Co-op’s Edgefield Area Director, said, “Our employees really care about Edgefield County and its citizens.  One of the ways we show that caring is through our support of the United Way.”

“Any time a business or industry reaches 100 percent participation, it demonstrates that there is a culture of caring that permeates through the entire organization,” said 2008 Campaign Chairman Dean Campbell.  “The United Way of Edgefield County thanks them for reaching this level of commitment.”

Aiken Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit, Touchstone Energy electric cooperative, and serves more than 44,000 members in a nine-county service territory.

The United Way of Edgefield County is operated by a Board of volunteers and has almost no administrative cost, so money donated by citizens can go directly to programs supported.  This year’s goal is $90,000.

To contribute to the United Way, please mail your donation to P.O. Box 72, Edgefield, SC, 29824.  The deadline is December 1 for this year’s fund-raising drive.  For more information, contact Campaign Chairman Dean Campbell, 275-3635.
