Do you know who lost in the elections?
web
posted November 27, 2008
COUNTY – The local elections are over and
all the winners are known, but are you sure you know who lost in the
elections? Did you know “someone else”, “Elmo”, and “Bob The Builder”
lost? Here’s a bit of news, Obama also lost as did Norman Dorn.
EdgefieldDaily.com obtained a copy of write-in candidates from all
local races and the list of names is surprising. God and Obama both
lost as write-ins for 11th Circuit Solicitor. Others who lost in the
race were Norman (Joe) Dorn who tied with Genovsi Mitchell with two
votes; Bruce Willis and Donald Duck were tied in third place along with
Kenneth Collier, Butler Derrick Jr., David Mathis, April Hammond,
Sandra Ross, and William B. Clyburn.
Charles Eubanks was popular as he obtained votes in races for US
Senate, SC Dist 25 Senate, House 82, and County Council Dist 3.
Sheriff Adell Dobey might need to campaign a little harder next time as
Barry Bussey came in second with a number of votes. Tied for third in
the race were Chief Magistrate Davis Parkman and James McNeef with two
votes each. Former challengers Dan Choate and Stacy Coleman showed up
as did former Sheriff Billy Parker. Sheriff’s Capt. Chris Wash and
Investigator Phil Ireland were tied for fourth with former Johnston
Police Chief Butch Easler, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Master Cat, “No
one”, Republican” and others.
County Council races saw their share of write-ins. Former District 5
county councilman Danny Bishop got three votes. We didn’t realize his
oldest child is of voting age already. Schoolteacher Denise
Jackson, Jay Lacy, John Lyons, Mike Joseph Carroll, Ben Wheatly, and
Kenneth Alexander also received a vote.
In County Council District 4 Joseph Mosley got three votes followed by
Betty Butler, George Bush, Dana G. Linn, Fred Connell, and James Leroy
Thomas.
County Council seat 3 saw Monroe Kneece winning but James Rushton in
second place followed by EdgefieldDaily.com’s Editor Roy Blackwell.
Others receiving votes were Thomas Holmes, Charles Eubanks, Johnny
Rutland, Tony Dubose, Tom Yoder, and “BNKNOS”.
Though Rodney Ashcraft pulled off a stunning landslide over incumbent
Everett Kitchens, Obama also lost. Others receiving votes were Corrine
Hayes, RodFarva, God, Davis Boykin, April Hammond, Kordell Holmes,
Dante Stevens, Kytall Malik, Betty Butler, and Kenneth Gribek.
Evidently voters took the County Council District 1 race a little more
serious with no write-in votes being recorded.
Once the complied list of all write-in candidates for races has been
completed the list will be published.
