![]() State Squirrel Hunt Championship set for Saturday web posted November 28, 2006 COUNTY – The South Carolina State Squirrel Hunt Championship is set to take place this coming Saturday at the Brunson Community Center. The hunt is licensed by the United Kennel Club (UKC) and is limited to UKC registered Cur or Fiest dogs, however, dogs can be registered the day of the hunt before 6 am Saturday. There will be two scored hunting periods beginning at 6 am and the second at 1:30 pm. Dogs will be put through two hour scored hunt periods which can last more than two hours Wayne Agner said. “The two hour scoring hunt is actual hunt time, not just the time in the woods.” Travel time from one area to another or breaks do not count towards the scoring of actual hunting by the dogs. There are no weapons involved in the hunts. The championship is very popular and draws contestants from several states Mr. Agner said adding the Championship hopes to draw more local entrants. For more information on registration, rules, and the event you may call Wayne Agner at 803-637-6219. Mr. Agner said the event is family oriented. For
