Edgefield County EMS sponsors toy drive

web posted December 3, 2007
COUNTY – Christmas is a time to rejoice, celebrate, and to spend time with our families and loved ones. It is also a time that we do not forget about those who have fallen on hard times. The Edgefield County Emergency Medical Services, the Edgefield BiLo, and the Edgefield County community are teaming up to bring Christmas to those in need.

“We intend to help make Christmas a joyous time for all,” one of the volunteers, Heather Grimes, said in an email. BiLo has already set up a toy drive as well as providing families with a food basket to help with Christmas dinner. The Edgefield County EMS is setting up a toy drive at the base station on Star Road and is currently working on getting a list of ages for these boys and girls in need.

“We are asking you to please find a spot in your heart, this holiday season, to spread joy to these children and their families. Please consider making a toy donation to the locations listed above. We also have some families that have teenagers, so please also keep them in mind,” the email read.

If you are a member of an organization or company that would like to hold your own toy drive for this cause, it would be greatly appreciated. Organizers ask that all donations be turned into above locations prior to December 21st, so that they can separate and wrap the presents. Any help or generous donation would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions concerning the children’s sizes and wish lists, please feel free to contact BiLo or Edgefield County EMS. You can reach the EMS Office at 803-637-3149.

”Thanks for all your help. May God bless you and yours this holiday season and always.”

Editor’s Note: Edgefield County EMS cannot accept monetary donations. If you do not have time to shop they will accept gift cards and do the shopping for you.
