Arrested BREAKING NEWS
Edgefielddaily.com web posted March 28, 2005 Staff reporting  Sportsmans CornerLocated on Martintown Road in Merriwether. Staff Photo Deputy Demeter was allegedly video taped shoplifting items at Sportsman's Corner in Merriwether over a period of weeks. The Sheriff's Department has not issued a press release on the matter or commented as of this writing. Deputy Demeter is presently on administrative leave. His arrest was first published by Edgefield Daily.com in our Crime Blotter section for the days of March 15th - 23rd. The management of Sportsman's Corner confirmed they sought the arrest and has turned the evidence, including video, over to the Edgefield County Sheriff's Department, who made the arrest. SLED is handling the investigation. As is standard policy, SLED refuses to comment on an ongoing investigation. Return to
