General Sessions Court Gets Underway

EDGEFIELD The first two week term of General Sessions Court this year got underway Monday with Circuit Judge William (Bill) Keesley presiding. No trials have been set at this time, however; below are some of those who have plead guilty to felony offenses as of mid-day Tuesday. All have previous convictions.

Robert Brandon Knight, 30; sentenced to 6 years, credit for time served for Manufacture, distribution, etc. cocaine base, 2nd offense following guilty plea. Five other drug charges dropped in exchange for plea.

Delonte L Harris, 20; Sentenced to 30 months and 2 years probation; concurrent with Probation Violation; credit given for 14 days time served for burglary in the second degree. Was on probation after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary in April of 1013.

Barrett Oneal Jones, 31; sentenced to 12 years; credit given for 3 days time served for Manufacture, distribution, etc. of cocaine base drug, 3rd or subsequent offense. At least three previous conviction for drug offenses since 2008.

Samuel Lamont Norris, sentenced to 10 years suspended to 180 days time served and 5 years probation; concurrent for Manufacture, distribution, etc. of cocaine base, 1st offense and manufacture / distribution / possession of sch l, ll, lll drugs with intent to distribute, second offense. A third drug distribution charge was dropped. Norris has a previous conviction in February of 2009 for manufacture / distribution / possession of drugs with intent to distribute and was sentenced to five years suspended, nine days time served: three years probation.
