Forged ID may bring INS to Edgefield County web posted January 18, 2007 EDGEFIELD – The arrest of JoaQuin Juan Vidot-Rosado on Tuesday has resulted in at least one felony charge and may be bringing federal immigration officials to Edgefield County. As EdgefieldDaily.com reported on Tuesday Mr. Vidot-Rosado parked the minivan he was driving in the Magistrate Court parking lot to bail a friend out of jail at the nearby County Detention Center. In an attempt to avoid arrest for driving without a license police say he presented the officer with forged identification when he was stopped leaving the area. That charge is enough to bring in Federal Agents for possible deportation hearings. Edgefield Police say Vidot-Rosado presented the officer with forged documentation, which is a felony. Federal INS agents will not become involved in cases of immigration unless a felony has been charged. Edgefield Police say Mr. Rosado gave a false name at the time of the traffic stop and presented the alleged forged identification to avoid arrest. He is currently being held at the Edgefield County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing scheduled for today. For
