EDGEFIELD – A single car crash on Star Road Thursday afternoon left three teens with injuries. Shortly after 3:00 pm for an unknown reason, the driver lost control, ran off the side of the road, and overturned. Deputies arrived on the scene and asked for back up as one of the injured became combative.

Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and Deputies blocked traffic on Star Road for about half an hour as dozens of onlookers created problems for deputies handling traffic and crowd control. It is unknown if the occupants of the car were wearing seat belts.

Another deputy was sent to Urban Outfitters to notify the mother of one of the injured to advise her of his transportation to MCG Hospital in Augusta. She had already left for the day when deputies arrived. The condition of the victims were not available at the time of this writing. Traffic was restored to normal a little over an hour and a half.

This is the second single car crash involving teens this week. On Sunday Edgefield County resident Robert Kasten, 15, and Robert Kotz, 18 of North Augusta, were killed when the car driven by Mr. Kasten left the left hand side of the roadway on Big Oak Road and slammed into two trees.
