Scrap Metal Suspects Identified

web posted January 22, 2014

EDGEFIELD The two suspects arrested for stealing nearly $1,000 in scrap metal from a Trenton property owner have been identified. A deputy originally reported a disabled vehicle, a white truck that had run out of gas. However, in the back of the truck was scrap metal reported stolen a short time earlier.

Leon Nealous, 59, and Tonya Brown, 44, both of the 600 block of Square Circle Ranch Drive, were taken into custody and were still being held Tuesday morning on a custody hold pending warrants.

According to an incident report released Tuesday, the pair had in their possession an estimated $500 in scrap metal and an aluminum Jon boat valued at $400.

A third person reported in the truck was not on the scene when the first deputy arrived.

An earlier report stated the suspects were black males. That information was incorrect, according to the incident report.
