Local Merchants, Artists, Businesses Pitch in For All God’s Creatures Big Event

Silent and live auctions to bolster fundraising at Jack Hanna special appearance

web posted January 25, 2008
EDGEFIELD – The business and arts community want to help make the upcoming All God’s Creatures fundraising event become even more successful.  They hope their donations for both silent and live auctions will add to the special pro-bono appearance by Jack Hanna.

Hanna, an international TV star and animal expert, will appear on behalf of the local pet rescue organization, All God’s Creatures.  The special fundraiser will be held at a private residence in Edgefield on the evening of February 13, 2008.

Auction items include:  locally made Edgefield pottery, oil paintings, water colors, and prints by regional artists, a weekend getaway at an Isle of Palms beach house, an antique diamond necklace from Windsor Jewelers, a one-year membership to Fitness Works, and an exclusive pet portrait.

Debbie Cheatham, a local merchant and owner of The Rabbit Patch of Edgefield said,  “The name All God’s Creatures says it all.  The volunteers are focused in their mission to love, care for, and find the perfect home for their pets.  The joy of seeing an animal find the perfect home is heartwarming. Today, with the help of all of us, a shelter may become a reality.”

Invitations to the meet and greet with Hanna are available for $150 per person or $250 per couple. Sponsorship levels start at $500 and up. Request an invitation by calling Beth Smith at 803-279-8406 or email at bhsmith@aol.com.
