Chamber of Commerce announces "Peachiest of Edgefield County"

web posted January 30, 2008
EDGEFIELD – The Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce held its annual “Taste” of Edgefield County Smorgasbord on Friday evening at the National Wild Turkey Federation headquarters in Edgefield, highlighted by the handing out of the first-ever “Peachiest of Edgefield County” accolades.

Ballots covering several categories - dining, leisure, shopping and miscellaneous - were made available through local media outlets and were tallied last month.

Area businesses earning multiple “Peachies” on the evening were the Ten Governors Cafe (Peachiest Downtown dining, Sunday brunch and down home cooking); the Little Mexico Restaurant in Johnston (Peachiest Mexican restaurant and place to be spotted); the Old Edgefield Grill (Peachiest business lunch and restaurant overall); The Rabbit Patch (Peachiest gifts, place to shop for husband/boyfriend and wife/girlfriend, friendliest service and overall shop); and American Forest Management (Peachiest service provider and most professional service provider).

Also at the meeting, the chamber recognized outgoing board members and covered the year of 2007 in review before officially unveiling the “strategic plan for Edgefield County” in culminating a fall full of Edgefield 20/20 meetings on Mondays at Johnston-Trenton-Edgefield Middle School.
