Wanted Woman Arrested after Foot Chase

web posted January 30, 2013

EDGEFIELD – An Edgefield Police Officer working off an anonymous tip located a convicted drug dealer wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant Tuesday evening. The officer approached Bridget Rouse, 30, of Edgefield, when she turned and ran from the officer upon seeing him. The foot chase continued from Rosa Hill Street to Walnut Lane before she was apprehended.

Though details of the arrest are incomplete at this time, Rouse was wanted for bench warrant, with a possibility of a second arrest warrant that has not been confirmed. It is unknown at this time if Edgefield Police will file charges for resisting arrest.

According to online court records, Rouse was arrested for manufacturing / distribution of crack cocaine on November 11, 2009, and plead guilty to the charge on September 10, 2010. She was sentenced to 15 years suspended on 4 years of probation, which would place probation ending in 2014.

She was given credit for time served of 75 days.

At this writing, Rouse was in the process of being booked at the Edgefield County Detention Center and any additional details surrounding the arrest were not available.
